There’s an eye care professional behind every diagnosis of macular disease whose expertise and compassion shape a patient’s experience. Their work extends beyond clinical treatment, providing guidance and support when people need it most.
To celebrate these extraordinary professionals during our 25th anniversary year, Macular Disease Foundation Australia has partnered with mivision to launch the new Eye Connect Healthcare Award.
Introducing the Eye Connect Healthcare Award
This is a new community-nominated award celebrating eye care professionals who have made a meaningful difference in the lives of people affected by macular disease.
Dr Kathy Chapman, CEO of Macular Disease Foundation, said the award shines a light on the dedication and compassion demonstrated by members of the eye care community.
“At times of uncertainty, the support of an exceptional eye care professional can make all the difference as someone adjusts to life with vision loss. This award is our way of recognising those who go above and beyond for the people under their care.”
Celebrating excellence across the eye care community
The Eye Connect Healthcare Award recognises professionals who demonstrate exceptional patient care, support better eye health outcomes and help connect patients with the services and information they need.
Dr Chapman said community recognition is a powerful way to acknowledge the dedication of those working across the eye care sector.
“Every day, eye care professionals help people facing significant challenges associated with vision loss. This award gives patients, carers and families the opportunity to say thank you and recognise the individuals whose care has made a lasting impact.”
For eye care professionals, the award is also an opportunity to celebrate the relationships built with patients and the positive difference compassionate care can make.
