Our team
Macular Disease Foundation Australia has its main office in Sydney and an office in Melbourne but operates a national program of activities across Australia. In addition to a team of dedicated professionals, our work is also supported by a loyal team of volunteers, many who have lived experience of macular disease.
MDFA is led by a full-time Chief Executive Officer, Dee Hopkins.

Dee Hopkins
Chief Executive Officer
Dee joined MDFA in January 2018. She's a passionate advocate and experienced policy strategist. She has an extensive management career of leading for purpose and peak bodies. Dee has a personal interest in working to reduce the incidence and impact of macular disease as her father experienced sudden, severe vision loss from age-related macular degeneration.
I have a strong personal connection to MDFA’s cause. My father had age-related macular degeneration, meaning I have a hereditary risk of the disease.
