Volunteers provide invaluable support to our organisation and the wider community, contributing time and expertise in many different areas of work.

Our board, ambassadors and expert advisor members all volunteer for Macular Disease Foundation Australia.

We also have a dedicated band of community volunteers who work in our office. They perform administrative tasks such as keeping the publication store in order, and also participate in our Peer to Peer telephone support programs.

From time to time, volunteers may assist in education sessions, support forums and other events across Australia. We provide appropriate training and oversight for these volunteer roles.

Many of our volunteers live with a macular disease.

Others are touched in some way by macular disease, such as through a family member or friend living with disease. For some volunteering at MDFA is part of their philosophy of giving back to the community.

If you would like to volunteer for us and make a real difference to the macular disease community, please contact us through the National Helpline.
