    Our commitment to you

Pursuing excellence in support of the macular disease community.

    Our promises

We will be an industry leader

We’re proud to hold the Registered Charity Tick from the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profits Commission.

This Australian Government endorsement identifies charities that are transparent, accountable, and meet their governance standards and reporting requirements.

    We will be transparent

We will annually publish independently audited accounts on our website. As part of this commitment, we’ll inform you of where your funds have been invested to help the macular disease community.

    We will keep in touch

We will communicate and share with you the impact your donations are making to support the macular disease community.

    We will be respectful

We will not put any undue pressure on you to make a gift. We value all contributions to our work, and we will respect any decision you make for future funding.

    We will honour your wishes

We would like to know if you’ve left a gift in your Will, but you don’t have to tell us. And we won’t keep asking. We recognise that your family and loved ones will always come first in your Will and will give them as much choice as we can about how your gift is used, to honour your intentions. We recognise that you have the right to change your mind about leaving a gift in your Will to MDFA.

    We value your input

A principle of our work is that it is informed and co-designed with members of the macular disease community, therefore making it relevant and impactful to you. We have a commitment to seeking your opinions through surveys, polls, and other forums.

    We will listen to you

We welcome any questions or comments you have. We will address complaints in a timely manner and value them as an opportunity to learn and improve.

    We will guard your privacy

We will take great care to hold your personal information securely and will not share your data with third parties without your consent, unless there is a medical emergency. We are committed to protecting your personal privacy and retain only necessary information which will assist us in achieving our purpose to support you.

We will be your patient journey expert

We will provide you with health information and guidance that is evidence-based, current, and reflects the latest science as approved by leading healthcare professionals on our Medical and Research Committees.

    We encourage feedback

We will always aim to service your needs in a timely manner. We encourage you to ask questions, provide feedback and share your story. We will act quickly to put things right if we are not keeping our promise to you.
