    AREDS2 supplements for AMD

    For some people, supplements may help reduce the progression of AMD.

    If you’ve been diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) you may benefit from a select combination of nutrients in the form of a supplement, which is based on the second Age-Related Eye Disease Study (AREDS2).

    AREDS supplements, which are marketed under a number of brand names, are based on a specific formula. They are not a cure for AMD. And they are not recommended for everyone with AMD.

    But for some people, these supplements may reduce the risk of progression of AMD.
