Macular Disease Foundation Australia (MDFA) is a finalist in two categories at the 2026 PRIME Awards, which acknowledge excellence in healthcare communications and patient engagement. MDFA is a finalist for NGO of the Year and Best Public Health Initiative for Eye Connect.
MDFA CEO Dr Kathy Chapman said the dual recognition was especially meaningful during a milestone anniversary year.

Being a finalist for NGO of the Year reflects the positive impact we have made over the past quarter century, while our Eye Connect nomination as Best Public Health Initiative acknowledges the level of support we offer Australians living with macular disease.”
Eye Connect is a free MDFA service that supports people living with macular disease between clinical appointments. A recent evaluation of Eye Connect participants showed 95% of respondents receiving intravitreal therapy reported maintaining their recommended treatment schedule while enrolled in the program.1
Winners of the 2026 PRIME Awards will be announced in November.
