This video will showcase latest devices including the Snow Pad and Cloverbook XL Pro, featuring a client interview, product demonstration and explore future trends such as AI in wearable technology and software help. The session will also cover how to access Quantum services, training and support, followed by a Q&A. 

About the presenter

Peter Cracknell:

Peter Cracknell is the Manager of Vision and Blindness Technologies at Quantum RLV.  Peter’s primary role is to bring the best assistive technology products to Australia, making sure they are properly supported with training and technical advice.  Starting with Quantum in 2002 as a vision technology specialist, Peter previously worked in Sydney and his home-town London, in the same field.  Peter was instrumental in supporting the fledgling Macular Disease Foundation at its inception; Quantum has been a proud sponsor and supporter of MDFA since 2002.  Over many years, Peter and his colleagues have collaborated with MDFA with webinars, workshops and road shows, including a marathon 3 week trip in 2005 to over 20 towns across northern NSW, all the way up the Queensland coast to Cooktown, spreading the word to local communities about macular disease management and prevention, and how assistive technology can help improve quality of life for people with low vision.

Krystie Alfaro:

Krystie Alfaro is an Australian Board-Certified orthoptist with a diverse background spanning clinical, hospital and community settings. She has worked extensively with individuals experiencing vision loss across various areas in New South Wals and now brings her expertise to Quantum RLV as a Low Vision Consultant. Krystie specialises in assessing clients’ functional vision needs and recommending tailored assistive technology solutions to enhance daily living. Krystie is passionate about bridging the gap between vision care and assistive technology fuelling the delivery of her tailored support, personalised training sessions, empowering people with macular disease to remain independent and confident in their everyday lives.
