In Australia and around the world researchers are working to discover more about macular diseases and ultimately to find cures.
Macular Disease Foundation Australia undertakes, commissions and translates important research into macular diseases. This research explores issues including treatment of macular diseases and the impact of macular diseases on patients, families and carers as well as the economy.
Additionally, the Foundation provides Research Grants to world leading Australian researchers working to reduce the incidence and impact of macular degeneration and ultimately to find a cure for this chronic disease. Since its launch in 2011, the Macular Disease Foundation Australia Research Grants Program has committed over $3.6 million to support world leading Australian researchers.
Research is a journey of discovery, with the ultimate destination being a place where we can save sight. Along the way we will learn a great deal that can yield major benefit.
