The MD Foundation would like to extend our sincere appreciation to our volunteers who gave time during National Volunteer Week (11-17 May). Volunteers are an integral part of our work, supporting the objectives of the Foundation through their contribution of time and expertise in many different areas.
Some of our volunteers have MD in various stages, and others are touched by it in some way such as a family member, friend or carer.
All over Australia there are people who help the Foundation in some way to reduce the incidence and impact of MD in this country.
National Volunteer Week provides an opportunity to highlight the role of volunteers in our communities and to say thank you as a valued tem member of the Foundation.
Australian volunteers contribute more than 700 million hours of community service to so many areas of society, including community health care, heritage and arts, environment conservation, emergency services, education, social justice and sports.
On behalf of the MD Foundation I would like to thank you for your commitment, dedication and support.
