Collaborating with UTS to support the education of future Orthoptists

Macular Disease Foundation Australia (MDFA) was delighted to be recognised for its contribution to the education of University of Technology (UTS) Orthoptics students.
Orthoptists are eye healthcare professionals who specialise in the assessment, diagnosis and non-surgical management of a range of eye disorders affecting children and adults.
MDFA has been working collaboratively with UTS and other tertiary institutions for the past few years, to raise awareness of future eye care professionals about the supports and services offered by MDFA to the macular disease community, as well as their carers and family members.
MDFA staff present an annual lecture about macular disease to UTS Orthoptics students. We also meet regularly with UTS staff to provide the university with resources about macular disease and the latest information about the Foundation.
The certificate of recognition was presented to MDFA Partnership Manager Colette Kinsella by Professor Kathryn Rose, Head of Orthoptics, Graduate School of Health, UTS and Associate Lecturer Mara Giribaldi.
