Jean Kittson talks to ABC Radio about her family link to vision loss

Jean Kittson, one of Australia’s most loved performers, speaks to ABC Radio Evenings host Chris Bath about Macula Month and her family connection to macular disease.
As an ambassador of MDFA and the prime carer of her aged parents, both blinded by macular disease, Jean knows she’s in the high-risk category but is concerned others don’t.
On the show, Jean talks candidly of the profound impact macular disease has had on her family.
“I see my parents’ courage in the face of losing their sight and that really affects me emotionally. Every decision has be made in the context of the fact that my parents can’t see."
Jean warns Australians to be aware of the need for comprehensive eye examinations and to look after their eye health.
