The objective of the MDF Research Grant 2012 is to facilitate and expedite substantial medical or psychosocial research that is likely to produce significant outcomes in reducing the impact and/or incidence of Macular Degeneration. The 2012 Research Grant is open to Australian researchers and institutions for both medical and psychosocial research related to Age-related Macular Degeneration.

The Foundation intends to make available up to AU$250,000 per year for a maximum of three years. Applications open on May 23 2011 and close at midnight on July 31 2011. The successful Applicants will be announced on World Sight Day - 13 October 2011.

Blackmores Dr Paul Beaumont Research Fellowship 2012

In recognition of the extraordinary work performed by the Foundation's Founding Director, Dr Paul Beaumont, the Blackmores Dr Paul Beaumont Research Fellowship is being offered. The Foundation is most grateful to Blackmores for supporting this fellowship.

The Blackmores Dr Paul Beaumont Research Fellowship 2012 is open to researchers based in eligible Australian institutions to pursue research into nutritional and/or lifestyle aspects of Macular Degeneration, consistent with the mission of the Foundation to reduce the incidence and impact of Macular Degeneration.

The Foundation will provide a research fellowship of AU$40,000 for 12 months. It is a requirement that the Blackmores Dr Paul Beaumont Research Fellows will be matched or bettered by the Applicant's host institution. Applications open on May 23 2011 and close at midnight on July 31 2011. The successful Applicants will be announced on World Sight Day - 13 October 2011.
